So, as is my custom, I didn’t actually watch most of the results show. I just don’t really care about all of the build up and the unnecessary musical performances that drag the show out to an hour. But the results were actually surprising for the first time in a quite awhile. One of my personal faves, Casey Abrams, was the one voted out. Say what?? As is the custom, he was given a chance to sing “for his life” (as Ryan likes to declare dramatically), but in the midst of his song, the judges made him stop. They then announced that they were using their one and only save on Casey – a truly smart decision on their part. Poor Casey, however, looked like he was suffering a stroke right on stage. I was really concerned about him for a moment there. Thankfully, he seemed to (more or less) recover.
The bad news of all of this is that next week there will be two eliminations. This, of course, is really only bad news if Casey somehow winds up being one of those two. Otherwise, I’m really hoping that Thia and Haley make their long overdue exits.
